CAMPOBELLO, SC- Hoyt Kentwood Collins, 86, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 26, 2016.
Hoyt was born in Campobello, S.C. in the Motlow Creek Community to the late Dever and Willie Lanora Crain Collins. He played football at North Greenville Junior College and after graduation worked at Spartan Grain and Mill Company from 1952 to 1972. He then worked as a Real Estate Agent and Broker until his retirement. In addition, Hoyt was a cattle farmer until his retirement in 2013. He was a member at Motlow Creek Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School for 42 years.
Hoyt is survived by his loving wife Margie Allison Collins, two daughters; Kathy Linda Collins (Charlie) of Chattanooga, TN, and Janice Collins Farrell (Jack) of Tryon, NC, and two grandsons; Josh Collins (Suzanne) of Chattanooga, TN, and John Collins of Seville, Spain. He is also survived by five brothers: Bryan Collins, Norbert Collins (Ruth Ell), Zeddie Collins (Sue), Waymon Collins, and Larry Collins (Linda).
He was predeceased by three brothers: Allen Collins, Quentin Collins, and Glenn Collins, and two sisters: Yvonne Collins and Jamie C. Burns.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2016 in Motlow Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Rainey officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
