Anita EATON Obituary

July 12, 1931 - September 15, 2022

And a lot happened in between!

In her own words, this is Anita's story: "I was born in Eugene, OR, the only child of Benjamin and Martha Tautfest. I graduated from John Rogers High School in 1949. I served in the WAC from 1950-1952. After that, I went on to attend Whitworth University and retired from URM Stores Inc. I also was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. I was also a long-time member of the Avondale Golf Club making 2 holes in 1! I enjoyed traveling, reading, cards, painting, and many years living at Fairwood Retirement Village. I lived in Hayden, ID for a time volunteering at the Coeur d' Alene food bank, as well as tutoring at Hayden Lake Grade School and in the adult education department at North Idaho College. I am preceded in death by my parents and husband Lorin (2006). Survived by my daughter Kathryn and son-in-law John Kurimura, stepson Craig Eaton (Janet), grandchildren Eric Kurimura, Kacey Kurimura, Kelly Dodge (Kyle), Matthew Fox, and 2 great-granddaughters, along with 3 special cousins: Jeanne Chapman, Dale Padget, and Roy Padget. Please have a glass of wine for me and remember the good times! There were too many to mention!"

A gathering to remember Anita will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, from 1 PM - 3 PM at Fairwood Retirement Village, 312 W Hastings Rd, Spokane, WA 99218. Please wear your Gonzaga gear. Anita would get a kick out of it!
