I'm thinking of my Dad, Anselmo (Sal Ogaz) today, April 5, 2024.
"Dad, I can't believe it's been a year since you passed away. I miss our phone calls and times together. It's been a year of healing and I'm ok. I love you and miss you."

I attended Community College in the early 80s with Sal. What a great guy! One of the nicest people I've ever met. I ran into him several times since at the Indian Trail yokes. Always stopped and talked to him. Oddly I was just thinking about him the other day. My condolences to the family.

I worked with Sal and Rose for a number of years planning travel with them. After Rose passed Sal became a great friend. I was always happy to see him in the office and meet his beautiful dog.

I first met Sal when he and his family moved into the neighborhood. He and my dad, Warren, became great friends. They were so much alike, kind souls, working and laughing together often. Over the years, no latter where I was living, I always found myself visiting Sal when I returned to Spokane. He always had a big smile and stories to tell me. I feel fortunate to have kept in touch with him and he is already greatly missed. I love you Sal.

I first met Sal when I was stationed at George AFB,Ca in 1968. We kept in touch until the time of His passing. I have many fond memories with Sal. I remember one time when we in our back yards enjoying a few beers. Sal was singing to his dog, when I reached over the gate to pickup Tony when it broke and I fell on top of Tony. Rose came out to get Tony and told me to go home. I couldn“t because I was already there. Sal is and will always be my beat Friend and will be missed. Lest We Forget.

Sal has been a part of my life since 1965 and has always been one of my favorite people. He has brought me thru some dark times in my life whether he knew it or not and I'll be forever thankful for that. He loved my mother who loved him for 39 years till she passed in 2007. Sal always treated me like one of his own, always welcomed my brother with open arms. He made me feel like I belonged. He was a good stepfather to me. He will be missed but I'm so very happy to know he is with our Lord in Heaven healthy and whole. Victor and I send our love and prayers to the family. We pray for peace and comfort for you all. Love Karen and Victor

Sal and Rose were our neighbors growing up. Sal was a constant and joyful figure in my childhood. He helped remove the training wheels from my bike and always had an open door with the best smile and welcoming laugh. I remember going to his house to feed his duck, I remember his perfectly manicured yard and his love for his family... and my family. Sal was a loyal friend. He also had a youthful spirit even into old age... a great example of this is when he came cliff jump with me at Long Lake at some point well into his 70s. Thank you Sal for the many great memories and care over the years. You will be missed. With love,

Sal and Rose were our neighbors during the years we raised our two young sons. They were lovely people who kept an impeccable house and lawn, helped others, and demonstrated kindness to the children who swirled around the block. That neighborhood group of folks included a number of older couples (from WWII era up to the Vietnam era) who made it a cohesive community. We remember with fondness and appreciation Warren and Dorothy, Hank and Helen, and Sal and Rose. Those older couples encouraged the younger couples like us in the area and remained "neighbors" even when we moved away. We shared days of block parties and street hockey and puppies being born. Memorable, wonderful days! Sal is the last of the "old guard" to leave us, and we truly will miss him. We extend our deepest sympathies to the Ogaz family.
