Bruce McFADDEN Obituary

Bruce William McFadden was born on November 25, 1950, in Santa Monica, CA, and passed away at his home in Greenacres, WA, on March 14, 2022, at the age of 71. Bruce grew up in Northridge, CA. He loved the ocean, the weather, but hated the traffic. After graduating from Granada Hills High School, he started working his way north, first turning vans into camper/trailers, and then as a logging truck driver. Bruce eventually landed in northern Idaho where he built a cabin and continued driving logging trucks. He married and from that marriage, his son Cody McFadden was born. Shortly thereafter, Bruce returned to college and graduated from Eastern Washington University as an industrial arts teacher. He taught in Ketchikan, AK, for 18 years. During this time he earned a master's degree from the University of Idaho. He met Marie Meserve and they moved to Chehalis, WA, where he built a beautiful home for them while teaching at W.F. West for 15 years. After retirement, they moved to Lake Roosevelt and then to their current home in Greenacres. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Penny McFadden. He is survived by his wife Marie; son Cody and grandson Jasper of Missoula, MT; his brother Eric (Susan) McFadden of London, England; two nieces Julie (Daniel) of Cambridge, England, and Meredith of Los Angeles, CA; Marie's children Terra (Michael) Haig, Luke Widman, and grandson Kaid, all of Spokane. A private service will be held in Tucson, AZ at a later date.

I´m very sadden to have come across this page, as I was trying to find Mr. McFaddens current contact info. I usually reach out to him this time of the year and didn´t have his current contact info. I will always know Bruce as Mr. McFadden, the teacher who inspired me to pursue architecture in high school. He taught me how to hand draft and use autocad. And he would always give me a call every year to see how I was doing, or what I was designing. The last conversation I had with him he was talking of catching up the next visit he was planning on making to Tucson. I will forever be grateful for such a wonderful teacher. My condolences to the McFadden Family.

I grew up with Bruce, beginning in kindergarten and through high school. Over the years we spoke every so often, and saw each other rarely, but Bruce was my oldest friend and will always be a part of me. I spent many a day and night at his home in Northridge, and was close with his mom Penny. He was a kind soul, and always wanted to make the world a better place, particularly for kids. I was so sad of hear of his passing.

Dear Marie and McFadden family,
We were deeply saddened to hear of Bruce´s passing. Bruce was one of the good guys; he wore it on his sleeve. I loved teaching and coaching with Bruce, and will always cherish all those times rehashing a game over a cold beer or 6. Cameron `Lefty´ loved playing football for him. Bruce was a credit to W F West and loved by all. We have the fondest memories of the times with you guys. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Zube
