Eugene PLUMB Obituary

PLUMB, Eugene "Geno"
(Age 60)

Eugene Plumb was released from his battle against cancer on June 4, 2016 at the age of 60, at his home in Spokane Valley. Largely known as Geno, he lived most of his life in Spokane, WA, where he graduated from Central Valley High School in 1975. He spent most of his life working as a carpenter in the Carpenter's Union Local 59, working for companies such as Goebel and Garco Construction. Because of Geno's hard work and dedication, he held the body building titles of Mr. Rocky Mountain and Mr. Spokane in 1983 and again Mr. Spokane in 1985. He was married to Julie Bronson from 1998 to 2007 and helped raise her two children, Brittney and Colby. Geno enjoyed mountain biking, 4-wheeling, jet skiing and camping. He loved NASCAR and the Dallas Cowboys.

Geno will be missed by his foster mother, Nancy Johnson and her husband Chuck; his brothers, Ted (Kirsten) Boyer, Darryl (Toni) Boyer; his sister, Tammy (Ron) Inge; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his foster father, Donald Boyer.

A Celebration of Life for Geno will be held on June 17, 2016 at 4pm Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave. Spokane WA. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.

I am very saddened... Bill Anderson just let me know. I don't know if I can make it over, but will try for Gene's memorial. He was a great person, and my first bodybuilding partner. I was "Little Girl", and he was "Euge".... Even years after I left Spokane, he would call and we would wish each other Happy Birthday(!)... Life is Precious... Love and Hugs to Everyone.... I remember Geno as a strong quiet but funny man. He was a great athlete and I will always remember playing football with him on the weekends and knowing that you could never tackle him from the front in an open field and never catch him if he got by you. Three words we all used to describe Geno's athleticism "Poetry in Motion". Geno was very serious most of the time and that's why he was so funny when he wasn't serious. I took the 2 pictures of him with my friend Bob Sutter and in one he was wearing my camouflage hat. That's the Geno I will always remember. My thoughts and prayers to all his friends and family as I know like me he will be missed. God Bless. That's me in the middle just before we went to our Central Valley High School 10 year reunion.

Geno will be remembered in my spirit as a quiet man with a great sense of humor, physical strength and determination. Although he had his struggles as we all do growing up, Geno always pushed through with a glad heart and a smile. When reminiscing with others about the best times of my youth, Geno always becomes the focus of the conversation. Playing football on the weekends no matter what the weather. Running, running, running all the time with me (everyone) struggling to keep stride. The world is a better place because of what he brought to everyone who knew him. In my heart Geno will always be my brother. I mourn his passing but rejoice in his peace.
