Florence FALCO Obituary

Florence (Flo) M. Falco, peacefully passed away on September 18, 2023, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family. Flo was a beloved wife to Joseph (Joe) for over 68 years, she was a mother to six children, grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Flo was born and raised in Spokane, Washington, where she raised her family. She married the love of her life, Joe Falco, January 4, 1955, celebrating 68 years together.

Flo lived a fulfilling life filled with love, laughter, devotion to her family and a deep dedication to the Lord and Holy Spirit. She had a passion for the less fortunate and gave back to her community. She volunteered for many charitable foundations (including Meals on Wheels, Red Hat Society, House of Charity Nightwalk, Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, and Interfaith Hospitality of Spokane).

Flo was very active in her kid's activities (PTA, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, CCD teacher and room mother), she was also known as a trailblazer, co-coaching a team of boy pee wee baseball players (10 to 11-year-olds), for two consecutive years lead the team to the championship of Division 2 of the Valley Boys Baseball League, defeating six other teams coached by men. The boys were taught the fundamentals, team spirit and good sportsmanship.

She loved the Christmas season, she showed everyone the true meaning of Christmas and how important family was. She loved to invite her grandchildren over to help her decorate her Christmas tree and bake holiday cookies by the hour. She was a kid at heart and adored watching them light up during the holiday season.

She was an amazing cook, she didn't use a cookbook nor measure utensils, she cooked by smell and taste. This was evident when she would prepare large Italian dinners, for family, friends and everyone who was around, and everyone went home with leftovers.

Flo was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, her parents, Jack and Sadie Todd, son Miguel (Little Mike); her six sisters, a brother, and many others she loved so much. She is survived by her five children, Joseph III (Kim), Louie (Kristi), Tina (Allan), Todd and Jodi, 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Also, surviving are her three brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to all the loving guardian angels who showed love and compassion for Flo at Sacred Heart Hospital, Dr. John Sestero, and his office staff.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Flo's life will be held at 10am on October 7, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 4521 N. Arden Road, Otis Orchards, WA, followed by a gathering of friends and family at the church hall. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to American Cancer Society, in memory of Florence Falco. Condolences can be made at www.holycrossofspokane.org

My heart is sadden to see this. Miss Florence was an angel. I got to see the gentle love she had for Joe when I was his caregiver. What a beautiful woman. It is a blessing to know they are together again.

Sending my sincere condolences in the passing of my friend, Jodi's mother. I know Jodi loved her mom and dad and it is very sad to lose them both so close together. My Dear Friend, you now have 3 angles watching over her. To the Falco Family, I'm so sorry for your loss. May all the love and memories comfort you at this time. I'm here for you Jodi. Love and Hugs, Debbie
