John Roberts WARN

1928 - 2022

John Roberts Warn, age 93, passed away in Spokane on October 1, 2022.

John was born on October 29, 1928, in Spokane to William Otto and Gertrude Roberts Warn. He was a graduate of Gonzaga University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. During school he worked as a salesman/accountant for Warn & Warn Shoe Company.

John enlisted in the Air National Guard and served in the Korean conflict. He accepted a position with the Washington Air National Guard as an Air Technician and retired in 1978 as a LtCol. He then worked as a Residential Realtor until retirement in 1996.

John's business and personal life was centered around his desire for civic duty. He served on the Board of Directors for Spokane School District #81, Board of Directors for Deaconess Hospital and President of Kiwanis. He also held many positions with the Air National Guard Association, American Legion and was Secretary-Treasurer for the Prosperity Club for 13 years. John was well known for his service to the community and the many clubs he belonged to. His razor-sharp memory, sense of humor and passion for sharing the latest joke or funny story was unsurpassed. He also loved to travel and was able to visit many interesting countries all over the world.

John is survived by his sons William Otto Warn III, Alan Mason Warn; stepson Gregory T. Brown and wife Janna; nieces Jane Marie Fife and husband Bill, Anne Louise Rees and husband Randy; first cousin Frederick Warn Blackwell; and Susan R (Bartleson) Warn, former wife of 25 years and mother of sons Bill and Alan.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 19 years; Agnes L Warn; parents; Otto and Gertrude Warn; sister Mary Jane Woerner; brother William Otto Warn Jr. and brother-in-law Robert L.Woerner.

The Memorial Service to honor John is scheduled for 3:00pm on October 15, 2022, at Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, 4102 S. Crestline Street, Spokane, WA.
