Judy KERRICK Obituary

October 23, 1941 - August 6, 2025

Bermuda Dunes - Judy Kay Kerrick, beloved mom, wife, and grandma went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2025, following a difficult and courageous battle with acute myeloblastic leukemia.

Judy was born October 23, 1941, in St. Maries, Idaho, to Vernon and Eleanor McLaughlin. She grew up in St. Maries, excelling in school and graduating Valedictorian from St. Maries High School in 1958. Judy pursued her passion for caring for others, earning her Registered Nurse (RN) degree from Sacred Heart Hospital Nursing School in Spokane, Washington.

In 1963, she married her hometown sweetheart, John Charles Kerrick, also from St. Maries. Together they raised three daughters - Jill Kerrick Walker (John), Christy Kerrick-Malen (Paul), and Leah Kerrick-Endres - whom Judy devoted herself to as a full-time mom before returning to nursing practice in 1974. She began in neurosurgery then on to clinical dermatology for Dr. Thomas Ryan, where she was known for her skill, compassion, and dedication to her many patients for over 40 years.

Judy's life was grounded in faith, family, and service. She was a longtime and active member of First Presbyterian Church in Spokane, where she served joyfully in the Bell Choirs, Women's Bible Studies, and other ministries. She loved the outdoors and embraced every season - hiking, camping, swimming, aerobics, snow skiing, and many years of fishing, boating and skiing on the St. Joe River. At home, she poured her creativity into gardening, arts and crafts, and preparing wonderful meals her family will forever remember.

After John's passing in 2016, Judy continued to live in Spokane until 2024, when she moved to the Palm Springs area to live with her youngest daughter, Leah. Her final months were filled with the love and care of her family.

Judy is survived by her three daughters, Jill, Christy, and Leah; five cherished grandchildren - Quinton and Corey Walker, Caleb Malen, and Sydney Littlefield (Drake) and Jeremy Endres; and many extended family members and friends whose lives she touched.

Her legacy is one of kindness, generosity, strength, devotion, and joy. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A celebration of Judy's life will be held later in Spokane, Washington. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial contributions may be made to vanessabehan.org or Second Harvest Inland Northwest.

I shared this obituary with the First Presbyterian Church Bell Choir and everyone had such fond things to say about Judy! We love her in the Lord, and are grateful for the time she shared with us. Every blessing to the family she leaves behind. Please let us know when any future service might be held!

Judy has been on my mind recently, she and John were both wonderful friends. I first met Judy in Nurses Training at Sacred Heart School of Nursing and we became great friends. To all the girls, she was so special and my heart aches for all of you. Jean Sutton
