Lois HANSEN Obituary

HANSEN, Lois Marlene
(Age 73)

Lois Marlene Hansen, passed on the morning of December 14th at Sacred Heart Hospital.
She leaves behind two sons, Rory Fagan and Jamie Fagan, one brother, David Hansen, one cousin, Jeanette Herman, two grandchildren, Erik Fagan and Malina Fagan, four nephews, Charles (Ward) Halley, Mike Halley, Brian Halley, Aaron Hansen and one niece, Jennifer Jensen.
Born in Coeur d'Alene, ID and raised in Spokane where she spent the remainder of her life. Lois graduated from Central Valley High School in 1961 and attended Washington State University, which was cut short because... in her own words... "My life became full when I got pregnant with you both. The first time you both moved in my tummy, I knew that I was hooked - line and sinker. God knows, nothing in my life has meant as much to me as you two!"
She had three passions. Traveling, mostly to Europe, backpacking and gardening. She traveled to Europe six times and had the time of her life! She took her niece, Jennifer, to Europe shortly after loosing her mom, which turned out to be the best kind of therapy for her niece! She loved it so much, they went back together two more times.
She enjoyed hiking and backpacking in the high mountains of WA, OR, ID and Canada. Locally, she loved hiking in the Dishman Hills and Liberty Lake Park.
Her passion for gardening is well known by everyone who knew her. During the summer she spent more time outside, planting, pruning, getting rid of bugs etc., than inside. It was a treat to sit out in her back yard, sipping on a cool drink, listening to the birds and seeing all the beautiful colored flowers all around!
Her laugh and sense of humor are legendary! It was easy to know when Lois was nearby. All you had to do was follow the laughter.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial at Lois's house on Saturday, May 6th, 2pm. Contact 907-942-7026 or email [email protected] for details.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Dishman Hills Conservancy.

Lois was such a special person, and her laugh always touched her eyes. I will remember, and treasure all the times that we spent in each other's company. I loved her very much, and will hold dear those memories always.
