May 29, 1922 to September 11, 2018

First born son of five children, his parents were Slovakian immigrants. Martin grew up in Wardner, Idaho and Spokane Valley and graduated Kellogg High School, Kellogg, Idaho. In 1943, he married high school sweetheart Lenore Doty.
He attended Gonzaga University for one semester and then enlisted in Army Air Corps in 1943 where he attended Flight School in Fresno, CA. In 1961, Martin and his family moved to Kellogg where he was a programmer for the first computer at Bunker Hill Mines.
Martin divorced Lenore and on July 17, 1971 he married "BJ" Ross. Retiring at the age of 55, he and BJ spent their summers on Hayden Lake, Idaho and winters in Yuma, Arizona.
In April 2016, he flew to Washington, DC on the Servicemen's Honor Flight.
Martin is survived by his daughter Sharon Thomas, son Kevin Absec, step-daughter Paula Ross, five grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren, his sisters Elsie Rinaldi and Molly Wells and preceded in death by his wife BJ Absec and brothers Joe Absec and Eddie Absec.
