Affectionately known as "Pigman" was born on December 3rd, 1973, in Spokane, WA. He moved to Heaven from his home on October 15th, 2016.
Matthew worked at Airway Heights Corrections Center for 17 years. He assumed many responsibilities; as an Officer, Sergeant, Counselor, Negotiator, Assistant Team Leader, Instructor and Mentor. He took his job very seriously and worked hard to maintain safety for all around him.
Pigman's enthusiastic love of life, family and friends knew no bounds. Camping at Haag Cove with this "DB" family, fire pit nights, target shooting, teaching his son life lessons and the Chicago Bears were his greatest joys.
Matthew is survived by his loving and devoted family; wife Kristina Strong, his precious son Jaxson Strong, mom and dad Susan Schlepp, Terry William Strong, Patricia Strong and sister Lauren Strong, his Aunt Kittie and his many, many friends.
Please join us in celebrating his life on October 29, 2016 at 11:00am at the Calvary, 511 W. Hastings Rd., with Pastor Happy Watkins officiating.

I(Cyndy)knew Matt when we worked together at Commellinis early nineties. He was such a prankster, funny, crazy and a fabulous cook. I loved working with him and watching him succeed in everything in the years since. He was a very loving husband and awesome father, just a truly good person to know all around. He will be truly missed by so many more than just close family and friends, I am happy to say he touched my life. God be with you my friend.
