Monte Addison McVay of Queens, NY was embraced by our Creator on October 30, 2017. Monte was born in Spokane, WA on September 28, 1949 to Harrison and Willamae McVay.
Monte graduated from West Valley High School in 1967. He earned his MBA at Seattle University and worked toward his PhD at NYU. Monte was a computer programmer until his wandering spirit and passion for writing took over.
Our world has suffered the loss of a beautiful mind and courageous soul with the passing of Monte. He was a dreamer with a quest for knowledge who wanted to experience all that life had to offer. A few of his passions were his girls, writing, playing the drums, jazz, travel, hiking, running, and rum con Coca Cola. He loved the energy of the city and the serenity of the mountains and was called to both.
Monte was extremely humble, living unselfishly in order to minimize his footprint on Mother Earth, encouraging others to leave no trace and to preserve the natural environment for the generations to come.
Monte leaves behind his two daughters, Bridgette and Kimberly; seven grandchildren, Shanell, Taryn, Allyson, Benjamin, Chase, Stevie and Rhyen; four great-grandchildren (he always had them emphasize the GREAT), LaylaMae, Elijah, Rylee, and baby Morgan; three siblings, Harrison, Mary and Rebecca; the son he never knew he wanted, Aaron; his special friend, Teresa; and many other beloved friends and family members.

Hi God dad we are just finding this. Went to your page and seen an obituary. My heart is so heavy right now but I know you are in peace. I am so sorry we did not have a chance to say good bye; you will be missed daily. I know you are a great man because GOD gave you to my brothers, sisters, and I and we were so thankful to have you in our lives to share love and express love for children who were not your blood. You poured into us and that takes courage and a true love of GOD. I can go on and on about how great you were. I love you, we love you fly high

Monte came into my life when I was just a young girl and was gracious enough to become a Godfather to me and my siblings. He had aways been in my corners supporting and encouraging me in every step of the way. I'm so sad to hear of his passing and send my prayers and condolences to his family that he left behind. Monte will truly be missed by me and others. I love you Monte may you R.I.P.

It was a little more then 20years ago i meet monti
The first time i servce his boiler in queens
After doing tons and tons of plumbing and heating
For him throughout those years me and Manti got to be close good friends lots of laughs fun times on the restaurant on the corner. Manti will be greatly missed I didn't know he passed. Just waiting for his call every year for a boiler service and any Plumbing that had to be done. He called every time repaired anything we had awesome conversations laughs just Joy he was such an awesome person he will be greatly missed by me,His favorite plumber and really good friends

This mans wisdom and knowledge sets him apart from all others. Ill always remember "LaRoca" and the fun we had making your CD- sorry I couldn't harmonize very well! You kept the faith until the end "I gotta stay positive, right". I promise to keep my word although your beautiful daughters already know how much you loved them. You will be missed!
