Sally O'BRIEN Obituary

O'BRIEN,
Sally (Hall)
(Age 77)

March 10, 1939 -
December 21, 2016

Passed away peacefully at Franciscan Hospice House in Tacoma, WA on December 21, 2016 at the age of 77. Her beautiful smile and sparkling eyes could light up a room and will forever be missed by many who knew her spirit and shared in her life's journey.
Sally was born in Portland, OR to Robert M. and Marion Hall and her brother Richard "Dick" Hall resides in Portland, OR. She attended Lincoln High School (1957), was a Flight Attendant for West Coast Airlines and earned a B.A. degree at Whitworth College in 1969 in Spokane, WA. She was a resident of Spokane for 25 years and was the proud mother of three children with lifetime Spokane resident, Robert W. O'Brien. Her eldest son, Jeffrey M. O'Brien, attended the U.S. Air Force Academy and regretfully passed in 1982 at the young age of 19. Her daughter, Deborah C. O'Brien, lives in Woodinville, WA, and her youngest son, William "Bill" R. O'Brien resides in Seattle, WA.
Sally loved an adventure and enjoyed living her life in other special places such as Boise, ID; Seattle, WA; Coeur d'Alene, ID; Hayden Lake, ID; Pinetop, AZ; Mesa, AZ; with her final residence in Gig Harbor, WA.
She loved being social and physically active and volunteered for many different activities during her lifetime. In her later years, Sally most enjoyed hiking, quilting, knitting, playing pool, Tai Chi, attending church functions, and going to "Hy Iu Hee Hee" restaurant in Gig Harbor, WA, for breakfast with her friends every Saturday morning and also on Tuesday nights for trivia.
Her children, Deborah and Bill, extend their deepest appreciation and gratitude for the support of her many friend's and also to the incredible volunteers and staff at Franciscan Hospice House (University Place, WA). You will always have a special place in our hearts.
As part of Sally's final wishes she wanted all who loved and cared for her to know that she is finally "free"... In her own parting written words, "I once was a caterpillar and now I am a butterfly".
Remembrance's can be made to the "Healthcare Heroes - Franciscan Hospice Fund".
The place of gathering in Gig Harbor, WA, to celebrate her life will be announced in January.
