Of Spokane Valley, WA, passed away at Guardian Angel Assisted Living in Post Falls, ID, on Monday, January 16th at 11:30 am.
Ted was born in Colville, WA, on August 27, 1932 to the parents of Howard and Mabel Matthews. Ted had three brothers and four sisters. Ted graduated from Colville High School and then went into the United States Coast Guard and served three years active duty, and four years reserve. When he got out of the service he met and later married Dorothy Bay, of Canada.
Ted is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Matthews, daughter Sheri Dickinson and husband Scott, son Patrick Matthews and wife Ana, three grandsons, John Daschbach and wife Kelli, Steven Daschbach and finance' Sarah Kadel, Robbie Matthews, one granddaughter, Randee Matthews, two great-granddaughters, one brother Eddie Matthews and wife Peggy, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ted had a successful career as a car salesman and retired from Camp Subaru. During his retirement years, he loved to garden, built planting chairs, and spent a lot of time at his property on the Little Spokane River.
A Celebration of Life will take place in Colville, WA in the Spring.
