Miss Carey was our neighbor growing up on the East end of Springfield. She was quite an original and unique in her principled ways. I knew her for over forty years and grew to respect and admire her more and more with each passing year. Doris will be sadly missed by me and all whose lives she touched.

She was my guidance counselor at Olive Branch Jr. High School. She was such a kind and gentle soul and truly enjoyed mentoring her students.

Rest in peace, Doris
l really liked talking to Doris at our Fortnightly Musical Club meetings. She enjoyed the fellowship while being a member.
She was very proud of her nieces and nephews and their accomplishments.

I feel blessed to have known Miss Carey - she gave me the privilege of calling her "Dorie", only because I had the privilege of helping her out to her car at Collier's Family Restaurant. I am sorry that I couldn't go visit her, for she was a remarkable lady, but my husband was very ill. I always was amazed at how she knew her beloved Springfield. I will keep the family in my thoughts and prayers and her in my heart.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have been a neighbor of Miss Careys for quite a few years now and I enjoyed talking with her, listening to stories, and helping her with little projects around the house. She was truly a remarkable woman who will be missed by everyone who knew her. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I delivered Meals-on-Wheels to Miss Carey. She will be missed. She would play the organ for me once in a while. I offer my condolence to the family even though I didnt meet any of them.
