What a great guy. Always extending generosity and eternally sincere. I think all of us who were priviliged to meet and know Rod are now better people for it. My best round of golf ever came with Rod riding around with me. Makes me smile when I remember it. I started talking about my round and he would start talking about something else to make sure I didn't blow up :) He will be missed, but never forgotten.

Rod was was wonderful person, friend and father figure. He was always willing to help and I first worked with him thru his advertising with ABN. Little did I know that was just the beginning as I had the honor of spending a great deal of time at the RBC barn and traveling the nation with the girls during their outstanding show cattle careers. It was a pleasure to watch fireworks at the farm, eat spagetti at Micks, take a carriage ride thru downtown Louisville, or just hang out and talk. His legacy is evident in his girls and numerous contributions in Clark and Champaign counties. Our heartfelt prayer is that the memories may bind your heart and provide comfort today and always.

I came to know Rod while working as a sales rep for the Gowan Company. He always had time for me and a couple of stories to tell as well. Rod was always a straight shooter and I greatly appreciated that. He will be sorely missed by so many in our industry as we have truly lost a great one! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

The loss of Rod will be felt throughout the Ag industry. Rod recognized that business was business and family was family. The business side was important to him and he was very good at it, but he never missed an opportunity to ask about family and personal interests. He brought passion to work and play. My condolences to his family, co-workers, customers and suppliers as we adjust to life without Rod.

It has been my priviledge to know Rod for many years through his work with the OABA and his catering business in helping out the College of Food, Ag and Environmental Sciences Ag Alumni Society with cooking for our annual AG Fallfest each year for the past several years. His willingness to work with us on varied menus, to cook all the food, and deliver it to the French Fieldhouse on time every time was a great cooperative effort to us and his staff of workers. He will be missed, but not forgotten. We in te Society are plaesed we were able to recognize Rod two years ago with our Service Award to the society. He truly was a giant among us all. Condolences to the family on this somber occasion.

A few years ago our paths crossed and I asked him when he was going to retire. His reply was "What would I do if I don't work every day?". We all need to take time to stop and smell the flowers. Sorry to loose another classmate. Sympathy to all the family.
