Family-Placed Obituary

BROCK, Steve 56, of South Solon, died Monday, August 13, 2007, 10:10 PM at the Madison County Hospital. Steve was born March 15, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio. He was a son of Elden J. and Helen C. (Conway) Brock. He was a lifetime dairy farmer in South Solon. He had been a memeber of the Madison Plains Young Farmers and the London FFA. He was an active volunteer with the 4H dairy division. Steve was an active member of Saint Patrick Church. He graduated from London High School in 1969 and Saint Patrick Grade School in 1965. He loved to farm and to be able to spend time with his loving wife and children and his granddaughter. Steve took great pride in helping his neighbors whenever he could. He had served as a member of the Air Force National Guard. Steve is survived by his loving wife: Jane A. (Sommers) Brock, whom he married August 11, 1979; daughters: Susan M. (Tom) Green of Oswego, Illionois; Bridget A. (John) Rucker of Columbus; son: Brian Elden (Savannah) Brock of Darbydale; granddaughter: Anna Elizabeth Green; sister: Ann T. Brock of South Solon; brother: James E. (Barb) Brock of Des Moines, Iowa; nieces and nephews: Rob Sommers, Lorraine Terry, Nicloe Kay Farao, Nicole Sue Brock, and James Elden Brock II: many many dear friends. Steve was preceded in death by his parents: Elden J. Brock, 1978 and Helen C. Brock 1999. The family invites friends to call at the Saint Patrick Parish Center, next to the church, Thursday from 4-8 PM with wake service to be held at 7:45 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, 11:00 AM at the Saint Patrick Church, 61 S. Union St., London, with Father Ted Sill officiating. Interment will follow in the South Solon Cemetery. The family sugests that memorial contributions may be made in Steve's memory to the Madison County Junior Fair, Dairy Division or Saint Patrick School, 226 Elm St., London. The family is being served by the Rader-Lynch and Dodds Funeral Home, 124 E. High St., London.
