McCURDY, Virginia E. 88, of Springfield died at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2005 in Mercy Medical Center. She was born May 30, 1916 in Springfield the daughter of Joseph B. and Elizabeth (Felix) Brumfield. She retired in 1980 from Rikes Federated Department Store. She was a member of St. Bernard Church, CL of C 201 and also was 1934 graduate of Springfield High School. Virginia also served as a volunteer at Community Hospital for a number of years. Survivors include three children and spouses Terrance M. and Stephanie McCurdy, Columbus, Ohio, Kevin J. and Sherri McCurdy, Overland Park, Kansas, Elaine and Sean Doane, Springfield, Ohio; two grandchildren Ashley and Kelli and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph in 1995, granddaughter Katie and two brothers Joseph and George Brumfield. Friends may call fro 4-8 p.m. Thursday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Bernard Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Bernard Church.
