I first met Dr. Spier in 1979, when my husband and I were walking around Weed Beach. My was husband jogging another leg around the Point. Dr. Spier was riding his bike and stopped and chatted. He asked if my husband had an MBA. I said he did from UCLA, then I asked why he didn’t ask mabout me! (I was working in HR for Pan Am and was honed into EEO.) He then asked and I answered “No.” With with Dr. Spirer as my advisor, I went to UCON night school after working full days at the Pan Am Building, had two children during the time, and graduated with my MBA! His was the challenge I needed. I loved his statistics classes, his sense of humor, and his kindness! We moved out of state three times after that, but the MBA helped me in the job market. Thinking of him makes me smile. I am happy to hear he lived a long and happy life. He was one of a kind and a great recruiter for UCONN’s MBA program.

Professor Spirer was a great teacher and friend, as well as a wonderful person. Unfortunately i hadn't been in touch with him for many years. I'll never forget him.
