I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the entire Bray family over your loss.

I attended Stamford High School with James. He was a co-captain of the Varsity Basketball Team at SHS when I was a co-captain of the Junior Varsity Team, but, quite honestly, he had more basketball talent in his big toe than I (an awkward white kid) had in my entire body. We had a couple of classes together and became friends.

James had a quiet demeanor, dressed impeccably, and exuded a kind of class and professionalism that was unique for such a young man and that I greatly admired. He was an extremely talented player that never trash-talked and instead let his game do his talking for him on the court.

While I have not seen James since our days at SHS, I am quite certain he carried these same admirable qualities with him through his adult life. He will be missed.

To The Bray Family:

Condolences to you all on the loss of James who went to high school with my sister and had plenty of spaghetti dinners at my house when SHS won a game. Seems like yesterday. While I haven't seen James in a very long time - his spirit will be missed.

Sending healing prayers to you all.

Our condolences and love flow out to you, Katrina, Kyle, Kim, and Cory. Jim was a wonderful neighbor, confidant, and friend. We have so many good memories of the times we shared over the years. His laughter, words of advice, and stories will truly be missed. When we take "Breakaway" out for a ride on the Bay, we will remember Jim. We thank God for the time we had together.

Uncle James, such an honest man. Youll be missed by so many and you were truly a staple in my adult life. I appreciate your honesty and the wisdom you shared with me. The cookouts will never be the same without James Bray on the grill . I promise I wont let anyone touch your remotes.

Dad,
What can I say? You left us too soon. I miss you already. I know towards the end you were in pain, and it's comforting to know now you are not. Olivia wants to FaceTime you of course, it's a bit tough to explain, but I know over time it will get easier. You are on my mind a lot, but in the best way, so many good memories. I ask that you give mom the strength to live a full life without you physically by her side. I know you are with us all, but I ask you give mom almost all of your attention. You did a great job Mr. Bray. You raised 3 children. We never went without. We were loved. You raised us to be tough, and I think that is honestly how I am getting through this without falling apart. You are literally the greatest dad ever. You approached tough times with logic, not emotions. That's what I admired the most. When I asked you if I should run for office, you said "Yes, your experiences in life made you who you are today. Today, you are at your best." Great perspective from a wise man. I will miss our conversations, but at this point, I know exactly what you would say. What you never did is done. I'll see you again, I promise. Love you Dad

Dear Bray Family:

So sorry to learn of the loss of James. I considered him to be a special friend from our high school years even though we went to rival schools. It was always a pleasure when our paths crossed, including a summer session at the University of Bridgeport.

May you find comfort from your faith and supportive friends.

Sincere sympathy,
Cynthia Dixon Peters
