Alice J. Gottstein, 88, of Nuremberg passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton.
Born in Nuremberg, she was the daughter of the late Condeido and Jesse (Kemler) Flaim and was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Weston.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her free time she loved playing Scrabble.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband Leonard R. Gottstein in 2022; great-granddaughter, Cecelia Gottstein; and brothers, James, Stanley and Donald Flaim.
Surviving are her sons, Leonard Gottstein and companion, Linda Bissett, Dallas; and Thomas Gottstein and wife, Mary, Drums; grandchildren, Taylor Reddy, Connor, Jordan, Thomas, Michael, Mary Kate, Sarah and Allison Gottstein; great-grandchildren, Delilah and Ruby Gottstein; and Owen and Finn Reddy; and several nieces and nephews.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday morning in the church from 9 to 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in memory of her great-granddaughter, Cecelia. The Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton is in charge of the arrangements.
