Frances G. Minor, 84, formerly of North Street, West Hazleton, passed away Monday morning at Mountain City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she was residing.
She was born in Hazleton, daughter of the late John and Sophia (Genesevich) Renitsky. She was a member of Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, Drums.
Prior to retiring, she was a cook for United Charities Home and for Beech Mountain Lakes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Minor, in 2012; and a grandchild, Mary Elizabeth Minor.
She is survived by her children, Janie Yacubeck, Drums; Joanie Minor, Hazle Twp.; Daniel Minor and companion, Olivia Conner, Las Vegas; sisters and a brother, Dorothy Velkey and her husband, Ted, North Augusta, S.C.; Victoria Galski, Monroe Twp., N.J.; John Renitsky and his wife, Marie, Hazle Twp.; four grandchildren, Brittney Minor, Jocelyn Santillan, Brooke Yacubeck and Thomas Malloy; one great-grandchild, Zion Weber; and several nieces and nephews.
Frances was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The funeral will be held Thursday at Good Shepherd R.C. Church with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.
Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
Friends and relatives may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc., Hazleton.
