Ella Williams Obituary
Elmira, NY - She passed away of natural causes Sunday, April 8, 2018 after living a full and active life for 103 years. Ella was born May 25, 1914 in Montoursville, PA, daughter of the late Clyde and Martha (Crossley) Sallada. They moved to New York and had a working farm in Hector, NY for many years. Ella met and married Franklin W. Williams on August 23, 1946 and had 60 years together before he passed away on March 15, 2007. Ella is also predeceased by her parents; brother Roy and sister Anna; sons-in-law TJ Johnstone, Robert Rohde and Joe Cavallaro. Ella is survived by and held dear in the hearts of her children; daughters Donna & Mike Spaziani of Elmira, Judy Johnstone of Las Vegas, NV and Karen Rohde of Cortland, NY; son John "Jack" & Lorraine Williams of Elmira; special sisters-in-law Shirley Bauer of Horseheads and Marilyn Ruggles of TX; her loving grandchildren Kim & Jeff Granger of Horseheads, Kristie & Bill Finnerty of Elmira, Stacey Turnier and Wendy & Jed Baumbach all of Las Vegas, NV, Jackie Rohde of Cortland, NY, Jeff Rohde of Seattle, WA, Jillian and Patrick Manuel of Rochester, NY, Eric Williams of Elmira; her great grandchildren, whom she was very proud of, Zac, Jenna and Lucas Granger, Abbie and Daniel Finnerty, Jessica Rohde and Jacob Lord, Maddyn Johnstone-Thomas and Hayden Turnier, and Cooper and Jackson Manuel. Our Mom lived her life with grace and selflessness. She worked as a presser for over 40 years with C&K Laundry and Ruddick's Dry Cleaners. She had a quiet sense of humor and a determined work ethic. Her care at the Chemung County Nursing Facility 4th floor has been nothing less than amazing. Thank you to all the staff for the comfort and love you gave to our mom every day and every shift. It was Ella's request that all services be private. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the family.
