I first met Mike at St. Mary's School in Denville, NJ. Mike was a grade ahead of me. I guess you could say that he took a liking to me. I lost touch with him during our high school years due to going to different high school. We reconnected through a mutual friend that I met while attending County College of Morris. More than a few times, I was invited to join Mike and our mutual friend, Mike Brazier. Since then I would occasionally run into Mike's younger brother, Pat. I would always ask Pat how Mike was doing and tell him that I said hello. It was one such occasionally that Pat had informed me of Mike's untimely passing. Mike would be pleased to know that I'm still playing the guitar. Rest In Eternal Peace.
My sincere condolences go out to his family.

A kind and happy soul throughout our days at Saint Mary's School in Denville, NJ.
But the enormity of his impact on so many lives is his real legacy, especially when I saw 1500 people packed into the Schalick Auditorium, each touched in some way by Mike. THAT is a life well lived!

One great Morris Knolls Golden Eagle. If there's a rock and roll heaven I know you're pounding those pagan skins wearing some crazy katt hat and the green and gold. RIP Iron Mike.

Dear Sue
We were so sorry t hear of Mike's passing. Although we haven't seen you guys for years you both have held a special place in our hearts and with our family: I still remember Mike getting Jay involved in track and field. Jay still has the Javelin in his home after all these years.
He was a TERRIFIC coach and teacher. Dot and I still remember when the two of you "baby sat" the kids while we were on vacation.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Your husband and father was a fine man and a very positive role model for so many young people. My heart goes out to your family, and I'm praying God will hold you up and strengthen you now and into the times to come. God bless you.

I met Mike in 2000 when I started substitute teaching at Schalick.
Mike was such a kind man, always smiling.
My classroom assignment was across the hallway from his for several months . . .he was always there and would unlock my door so that I did not have to wait for maintenance.
Mike and I chatted often during those months as we stood at the doors of our respective classes . . .life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness, family, sports, students, plans for when Friday finally arrived
Mike was always willing to help with anything I needed and always checked to see that I was okay.
He was just that kind of guy!
I just saw Mike in IGA the week before I heard the news of his passing.
Again, the smile, the relaxed-unhurried attitude, the desire to catch up on life.
My heart goes out to the family . . .my prayers are with you.
May God wrap his arms around you and comfort you with HIS peace.
We will all miss you Mike, but heaven certainly gained an angel.

So sorry to hear of your loss.. I got to know Mike thru a good friend of mine, Dave Vila, a Juniata grad. Hars was really a great guy. I had a chance to re-connect with him at BB games where our High School team(Pitman) played against Schalick. Always was a great conversation, either about our kids with Basketball or sports in general and great banter! He always had a smile on his face. He will surely be missed by all. Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family.

Man o man o man, we lost a good one. I was this train nut semi-nerdy guy at Juniata. Mike was this football jock that was my friend. I never felt judged by Mike, quite the contrary, he met me just where I was in life, and that meant a LOT to me at the time. Always happy, enthusiastic, upbeat, kind, full of energy and life. Always great to see him at reunions. We'd exchange train pictures on line even until recently. I'd see one in Denville and have to send it to him, and he sent me ones he knew I'd like too. Mike touched my life in a very positive way. He will not be forgotten.

Mike was not only great but such a fun guy. JC reunions will never be the same, and he will never be forgotten.
I'm sure he's up in Heaven already getting a fantastic band together or a game of touch football started! It's always hardest for the ones left behind, but we'll all be back together one day and have one heck of a party!!
Prayers, love and my thoughts go out to his family.

Mike was such a giving, caring & honorable person. I am so very happy that I had the opportunity to know him & work with him. I will aways remember him telling me about his family and how very proud he was of them. Always mentioning Juniata college, he would ask me " hey Norm, did you contact Juniata about visiting Schalick yet?" I would always let him know, yes, Mike they will be here. And we would laugh! Anyone that had the pleasure of knowing Mike is richer.
