Nicholas Little Obituary
Age 34, of Horseheads, passed away unexpectedly on Apr. 13, 2011. He was born Feb. 23, 1977 in Elmira to Donna Barends Little and the late Richard Little. Nick is survived by his wife, Eileen (Bermingham) Little; daughters, Lexi and Kassie Stahlman-Little; son, Dominic Little and stepson, Kytrell Stroman; sister, Kristy (Joe) Geerholt of Tampa, FL; mother, Donna Little of Horseheads, NY; maternal grandmother, Photine Rennells of Breesport; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Nick was predeceased by several family members including his, father, Richard; uncle, Michael Barends; grandfather, James Rennells Jr. Nick had a huge heart and was loved by many. He will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., Horseheads today April 15, 2011 from 5-8:00 p.m. His service will take place on Sat. April 16, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with burial service to following in Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing are encouraged to remember Nick with memorials to a scholarship for his children c/o Michael May Esq. at Adams, Theisen, May, and Miller Law Office, 103 West Seneca St., Suite 301, Ithaca, NY 14850. There have been some questions regarding the educational fund set up for Nicks children. Nick's uncle, Mike May, is an attorney in Ithaca and it's his firms address you see in the obituary. Thank you all so very much for all your heartfelt posts and donations, it is truly greatly appreciated.

I will miss Nick, coming over every day and jumping on the trampoline was unforgetable, I still have many scares from that thing. Nick was a great friend to me growing up and I will always remember him. I will keep you and the family in my thoughts.

My precious nephew, this is the 4th time I've tried to write something and couldn't find the words. My heart hurts so and I just want it to all go away. I still cannot wrap my arms around what has happened. I just know that you are so missed and so loved. I know that you are in a better place. I know that you are with your Uncle Mike and your Dad and all those family members who have passed from this world. And I know that your mission here on this earth was over and the Lord called you home to be with Him. May you rest in peace in the loving arms of our Lord and watch over your Mom, your sister Kristy, Dominic, Kassie and Lexi. I'm so glad I got to see you in Nov. and spend Thanksgiving with you and your family. Who knew it would be the last time I would see you........the tears still flow. I will see you on the other side!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;

Nick made a very significant impact on my life, as I am sure he did with many others. I will always remember his time with me at HHS, playing nerf basketball in my office, talking about everything, and making me laugh.
