Phoebe Caverly Obituary

Phoebe Elizabeth Caverly, 83, of Preston, Maryland passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton, Easton, MD.

Phoebe was born in Bedford on April 22, 1941, daughter of the late Charles C. and Margaret (Baker) Cuppett.

She married her husband James L. Caverly, a mathematics teacher, in 1984. They have lived their entire married life in Preston, Maryland.

She is survived by brother- Cecil Cuppett husband of Patty, of Johnstown; sisters-in-law: Sandra Cuppett, and Dona K. Cuppett; her nieces: Cozette wife of David, Katie Bringuier wife of Jonathan, and Kimberly Bozic wife of Matt; and several cousins.

Phoebe worked as a reading specialist in Prince George's County, Maryland. After moving to the Maryland Eastern Shore, she taught at Saints Peter and Paul School in Easton, Maryland.

She also did extensive private tutoring of students in reading, helping students overcome reading disabilities. One of her greatest joys was found in helping students overcome their handicaps. In her later years she enjoyed reading novels, especially those set in the Regency period of English history. She loved music, especially classical music. In their younger days, she and James often attended concerts of the National Symphony in Washington and Baltimore Symphony.

She graduated from Chestnut Ridge High School, and completed her Bachelor's Degree in English and French from Juniata College before continuing school at West Virginia University, where she received her Master's degree in Reading.

She was co-host with James of an internet radio show at www.DividedKingdomRadio.com and co-author of the book Covid and Coming Chaos.

A viewing will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025 from 2-4 PM at Geisel-Styer Funeral Homes, Schellsburg.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 4 PM at Geisel-Styer Funeral Homes, Schellsburg.

Interment will be at Cuppett Cemetery, New Paris, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Phoebe's name to a favorite charity.
