LaDonna Jung Obituary

LaDonna L. Jung August 16, 2022 LaDonna L. Jung, age 87 of Sidney, NE passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022 in Kimball, NE. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 26th in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney with Pastors Chad Rademacher and Phil Found Pastor Emeritus officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday, August 25th from 1-6 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made in LaDonna's name to High Plains Arts Council or Congregate Meals at the Cheyenne County Community Center. Services will be streamed live on the funeral home's Facebook page and recorded for later viewing. Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of LaDonna's care and funeral arrangements. LaDonna Lois Jung, the daughter of Raymond H. and Esther Sophia (Borcher) Lessman was born on July 10, 1935 in Sidney. She graduated from Sidney High School with the Class of 1953. On June 29, 1956, LaDonna was united in marriage to Alferd E. Jung at Salem Lutheran Church in Gurley. Together they made many memories in Germany and Cheyenne County where they raised their family. LaDonna was very active in her community and St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She loved taking trips with her sisters and family and watching her grandchildren in their sporting events. LaDonna was passionate about teaching. She taught in many regional schools as well as Sunday School. She will be missed dearly by her husband of sixty-six years: Alferd of Sidney; her children: Tanja Frye and husband Casey of Ames, IA, Marlin Jung and wife Paula of Evergreen, CO, Trina Stitt and husband Gordy of Sidney and Tricia Berry and husband LeeVern of Chadron, NE; grandchildren: Janelle Smith, Jordy Childers and Casey Childers all of Evergreen, CO, Meagan Long and husband Kyle of Sidney, Terrin VanCura and husband Nate of Hastings, Trevor Berry and Broc Berry both of Chadron, Jennifer Vasquez and husband Sev of Castle Rock, CO, great-grandchildren: Kylie and Lukas Long of Sidney, Tahli Childers of Evergreen and Izzy, Addy and Emmy Vasquez of Castle Rock; sisters: Marcella Rapp of Lakewood, CO, LaJean Campion and husband Charlie of Loveland, CO, Janice Schilz and husband Darrel of Gering, NE and Deloris Steffens and husband Bob of Sidney and many extended family members and friends. LaDonna was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Delbert Lessman and sister-in-law: Frances Lessman.

My deepest condolences to you all. LaDonna will always have a special spot in my heart for all her help subbing when I had to take time off for health. She was a special lady and a beautiful soul. God bless you.
