William Pullen Obituary

BAYARD - William "Bill" W. Pullen, 82, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Chimney Rock Villa in Bayard.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 19, at the Faith United Church of Christ in Bayard with Pastor Tom Smith officiating. Interment will be at the Bayard Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled Wednesday, April 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Faith United Church of Christ, 104 E 13th Street, in Bayard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made in Bill's honor in care of the American Heart Association or to the church. Online condolences may be left at www.jolliffefuneralhome.com. Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff is in charge of arrangements.
Bill was born Oct. 26, 1929 to William F. and Pauline H. (Warrick) Pullen on the family farm east of Bayard, where he was raised. He was educated at south District 96 School, and Bayard High School. He married Joan M. Bangert on July 22, 1951 in Bayard where they farmed and raised their family. Bill was later baptized and confirmed on April 6, 1952 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bayard. He was a member of the church, where he served as a deacon and on the church board. Bill was also a 30-year member of the Bayard Rural Fire Board, and a past director of Alliance Irrigation District.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years Joan M. Pullen; children, Billie (Dale) Schneider of Bayard, Vickie (Greg) Schmall of Bayard, and James (K.C.) Pullen of Omaha; grandchildren, Lindey Pratt, Liza (Lea) Abercrombie, John (Anne) Schmall, Kane and Mikah Schmall, Jack, Jordan and Kamryn Pullen; great grandchildren Taylor and Paige Houston, Ayden Wysocki, Cole and Sage Abercrombie, George and Sophia Schmall; sister, Bonnie Eigbrett of Bayard; sisters-in-law, Barbara Bangert of Denver, Sandra (Isidro) Flores of Andover, Kan. and Nadine (Eddy) McNabb of Bayard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His parents, siblings Vern Pullen, Dorothy McGee, Betty Acker, Patricia Rohrbuck and Daisy Kropp, and grandchild, Lukas Schmall preceded him in death.
