Chris was my student assistant his senior year at Lakewood. He and I were great friends. He wrote me letters from the Gulf War that I shared w/my class. I remember him as the happy go lucky surfer kid and then the brave Marine. I am so sorry to hear, and I offer my deepest sympathies to the family.

Chris Knopf is one of the greatest men I have ever known. He changed my life and believed in me! He believed that college was possible for me. And next year I will be graduating from the University of Dayton. Thank you Mr. Knopf for loving me when I didn't love myself. <3 Amanda J.

I have known Chris for the past couple of years now. He was the HOA manager for our condo complex. He has always been a free, kind spirited man. We are so sorry for your loss and we wish you and your family all the best in the future. May god bless you with every step of the way. He will always be in your thoughts and prayers and was an excellent person. May god bless!!!!

I'm having such a hard time grasping the news about Chris. I remember when he was born! He was such a busy, beautiful little boy, and All Boy, one might add, always into something with so much verve and spirit. He tackled everything he did to the fullest and from the time he was tiny he had his opinions. He was always so open to new experiences, too. One time, this must have been around 1985, when he was about 15, Chris, Michael, Trilby and Tom came to visit me in Tallahassee. I had bought an "expensive" loaf of rosemary cheese bread -- it cost all of $3 -- and Chris came strolling out of my kitchen, saying, "That's the best bread I've ever tasted." Later when I went in the kitchen, I saw that he had eaten all the cheese out of the middle of the bread, leaving hunks of mashed dough on the counter. I stared at it astonished but when he gave me that wide-eyed, happy look of his, I just had to laugh. This is the Chris I remember so fondly. I loved him because he was my cousin, but he was actually closer in age (6 years apart) to Maggie, who is just devastated. Our thoughts are with all of you as I write this entry -- the clock says his memorial has just started. We are so very sorry and will miss him truly.
with all our love, Linda, Al and Maggie

My Sincerest condolences to the family & friends of Chris. I had opportunity to be acquainted with him in a professional capacity through Cepco. I found him to be a very nice, personable man. I consider it a privelege to have met him, however briefly. God Bless & Keep you all in this time of sorrow.

Chris will be missed here in our neighborhood. He was our rep, too, and always handled things so efficiently --- yet with a smile. Not too long ago we were walking to a meeting and I asked him about the colored flags and paint on the road. Not only did he tell me why they were there, but took the time to tell me what ALL the different colors meant. It makes me think of him every time I see them around town!
Again....he'll be missed. Sorry for your loss.
