Pam and Dexter, I remember some of the times you were at Lake Forest, as a family, visiting Frank and Doris, your parents (Pam). Only those who have walked in your shoes truly know your hurt, but I can assure you that your heavenly Father is close to you at this very moment to comfort and console you. We pray God's peace for you and your entire family. As a grandfather, I know they are hurting also. God bless.

DEAR FAMILY,
I HUNG OUT WITH CHRIS ALL THROUGH MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL. I USED TO LOVE RIDING AROUND WITH HIM IN HIS BIG JEEP. I'LL NEVER FORGET SOME OF THE MEMORABLE THINGS HE SAID TO ME. I LOVED HIM FOR THE FACT THAT HE ALWAYS SEEMED TO JUST TELL IT LIKE IT WAS. HE WAS SO FUNNY. I'M SAD THAT I HADN'T SEEN HIM IN SO MANY YEARS. I REMEMBER HANGING OUT IN THE BACK GARAGE AND ALL THE BIG GET TOGETHERS AT YOUR HOME. HE'LL BE LOOKING DOWN ON ALL OF US NOW. WE CAN ALL USE ANOTHER ANGEL.

Dexter, Pam and Family,

We want you to know we are thinking about you all, and praying that God will give you comfort and strength in this time of great sadness.

Pam,

I know words are almost meaningless right now and only your family and the Lord can understand what you’re going through. I pray the comfort of people praying for you, some you have never met, will be a source of strength during this very difficult time.

You are continuously in our thoughts and prayers.

November 23, 2009

Dexter, Pam and Matt,

Our heartfelt condolences go out to you all during this extremely difficult time in the loss of such a wonderful person in Chris. While there are many friends who have entered our home through the lives of our girls, few have made an impact quite like Matt and Chris. Although our hearts are saddened, we can't help but remember a kind-hearted young man with a remarkable gift to make people laugh and extend a helping hand whenever he could. He was always such a joy to be around and we looked forward to his visits. One thing we know for sure is how very much he was loved and how terribly he will be missed. Please know that we are praying for you all constantly and are so incredibly sorry for your loss. While the world is mourning the loss of such a sweet soul, the heavens are rejoicing in his infectious humor and kind spirit.

November 23, 2009

Pam, Dexter and Matt,

It is with the deepest sadness that we mourn the loss of such an incredible person in Chris. He was truly one of the greatest people I have ever known and I am a better person for having had him in my life, even if for way too short of a time. His ability to make people laugh and appreciate the good times was amazing and he will never be forgotten. He had the biggest, most genuine heart and I am so thankful for every single memory that I have of him. There are no words that could ever express how much he meant to so many people and how truly sorry we are for your loss. I hope that you will find comfort in knowing how many lives he touched and in the precious memories you have of him until you can be reunited again. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I know Chris is smiling down upon us all at this very moment and that somehow brings a little sense of peace in the midst of the tragedy. Much love to the entire Johnson family.

To the Johnson family,
Chris carried such amazing light wherever he moved in all situations. There was never a time that went by that he did not have me laughing or put a smile on my face by just a simple thought of him. My heart goes out to all of you that knew him. We all must know that God has made his special place for him. For all of us that have known him or just had a small time with him, Chris has truly blessed our lives. He has blessed our lives with his friendship, thoughtfulness, laughter, kindness and of course his sweet ol' smile. Chris, I will miss you dearly. To Your family my heart, thoughts and prayers are with you, and thank you so very much for blessing us all with him.

All my love,
