Joan Harvey Obituary
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.
Joan was born on January 14, 1933, in Ottawa to John and Bessie (Halterman) Mennie. She was a graduate of Marquette Academy, class of 1950. Joan married Wayne J. Harvey on February 5, 1955, at St. Columba Catholic Church in Ottawa. She was retired from the Tri-County Credit Union. Joan was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church in Ottawa and involved in Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
She is survived by three children, Cheryl (Dennis) Lewandowski of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Carol (Greg) Price of Cary, North Carolina, and Jay Harvey of Seneca, Illinois; six grandchildren, Cole Harvey, Lindsey (Justin Gerow) Lewandowski, Paige (Tim) Nesbitt, Chris Price, Allison (Jake Kopitzke) Price, and Matthew Price; and five great-grandchildren.
Joan loved spending time with her family. She and Wayne enjoyed many cherished friendships and "snowbirding" together in Holiday, Florida. Joan also enjoyed traveling, games and puzzles, gardening, bird-watching, reading, and cheering on her favorite Chicago sports teams.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne; five brothers, Jim, Hubert, Vernon, John, and Leonard Mennie; and three sisters, Delores Tabor, Ruby Lietz, and Alice Downey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the St. Columba restoration fund.

Cheryl, Carol, Jay and families-thoughts and prayers on the passing of your Mom. I have many fond memories of Joan and Wayne-who were dear friends of my mother and father, Joan and Bill Hoffman. She was truly a special woman who always had a kind word for all.
