Charles Garrett Obituary

Charles P. Garrett (Chaz) Charles P. Garrett (Chaz) was called home on May 23, 2008, in the company of his mother, brothers, family and friends. He was born in Landstuhl, Germany, on March 7, 1963, to Barbara Garrett and Charles Garrett. He graduated from Ellison High School, Killeen, Tex., and then attended Central Texas College. After Central Texas College he relocated to Austin Texas. Chaz was a fun loving person who enjoyed family and friends. He loved to travel and truly had a passion for life. He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted mother, Barbara Garrett; father, Charles Garrett; two brothers, Gregory and Kevin (Danita) Garrett; sister, Alexis Garrett; two nephews, Brian and Josh Garrett; two nieces, Melissa Garrett and Liz Riggleman; two great-nieces, Aubriana and Camaya Garrett; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. To these friends, the family would like to say a heartfelt thanks for their love and support during a difficult time. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Cook- Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas, where a funeral service will also be celebrated for Chaz's zest for life on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at 3:30 p.m., in the Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

I will miss you calling me Simba. I am posting a quote from Chaz. I had emailed him asking if he would want to come back to work at Wincor and this was his reply.:)
"What do you want me to do have 3 jobs…..what do you think I am Jamaican….

Yes y’all are missed"

My condolences to everyone who has had to say goodbye to our Chaz, you left us way too soon! I still have not accepted this. We still had more travel and fun to experience. You certainly made every minute being around you the best of times for all. A support beam in the foundation of your family who you spoke so highly of, and the main reason that you would never leave Austin for Atlanta. I will always cherish the time that we had together and look forward to that beach in the sky

Chaz~it finally hit me last night that you are really gone. I won't hear your laugh anymore, get your sage advice on things I'm having a hard time figuring out for myself, get to dance with you or feel one of your warm and powerful hugs. Through this, I'm glad I finally got to meet the wonderful family you always talked so much about. I love you so much and will remember you every single day of my life. And I know that one day, somewhere, I will see your beautiful face again.

Chaz,

Words can not truly express what I feel right now knowing that you have already transitioned from this life. You were such a kind and gentle soul and were a joy and blessing to be around each time I saw you. I thank God that our paths crossed many times on THIS side and I look forward to seeing you again on the other side!

I pray for God's peace, comfort, strength, grace and mercy and abundant abiding love for your entire family.

Charles, you will be missed by many. You touched lives with your kindness and friendship. I have the fondest of memories of us traipsing all over Italy, France, England and other places. We had such good times in Atlanta, Austin, New Orleans and everywhere in between. You really showed people how to enjoy life and will be missed. One day we will all be together and a great laugh they way we used to. We love and miss you very much. Where ever you are I know you are turning into fun times for all. You will be in our hearts forever. Love James and Wade

Chucky, I am overwhelmed with grief. Those summers we all spent together at grandma's house were the best times of my childhood. I always knew I could tell you anything. I love you--Kim
