Jeffrey Tennison Obituary

Jeffrey (Jeff) David Tennison A celebration of the life of Jeff Tennison will be held Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dripping Springs United Methodist Church, 28900 RR 12, Dripping Springs, Texas with Reverend Andy Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Fall Creek Cemetery in Spicewood, Texas. Jeff was born in Victoria, Texas April 14, 1963 and moved to Austin in 1967 where he grew up, attended school, and met and married his wife, Christi Tennison, in 1987. He later received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 1995 from Texas State University. Primarily an entrepreneur, Jeff founded and managed several businesses, but it was his love for building that led him to his last venture Tennison Homes, Inc. building many homes in the Texas Hill Country. Jeff was very active and devoted to the Lake Travis Youth Association Baseball League where he coached for several years. He was an avid hunter which he loved to share with his son, a sports enthusiast and Longhorn fan. Jeff was also an active member of the Lake Travis United Methodist Church and the Emmaus Community. Jeff will be remembered by all who knew him for his ingenuity and creativity, and his deep and profound love for his family and commitment to the community. We will miss him for many reasons, most of all his playful, adventurous and competitive spirit, his love and dedication to his wife and children, and his love for the kids and players of the Lake Travis Youth Association. Jeff is survived by his wife of 20 years, Christi Charlton Tennison; his daughter, Taylor Nicole Tennison; his son, Jason Derek Tennison; his mother and father, Judy and Jim Tennison of Dripping Springs; his sister, Jennifer Tennison of Elgin; his grandmother, Mercedes "Mamma" Slussler of Austin; and many other loving family members, aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jeffrey Tennison Memorial Fund whose contributions will benefit Lake Travis Youth Association, Texas Parks and Wildlife Association, and a Scholarship fund to benefit his children. They should be sent to: Forrest Troutman, Attorney at Law, 1201 Spyglass #100, Austin, Texas, 78746.
