Dear Rohlich Family,
I was shocked and saddened to hear of John's death. I had the pleasure of working with John when he was Sussex County Vice President of the Delaware School Counselor Association. John's warm smile and positive attitude along with his willingness to serve made him an asset to the Board. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time.

Dear Rohlich Family -
What a loss and what a great guy! Besides John's great sense of humor and wonderful way with SMS students, I will remember a man that represented hundreds of teachers in SEA and fought for their rights. John taught me about what it was to be in a union of professionals. Thanks for sharing him with us.

Sincere Sympathy to the entire Rohlich family, I am reflecting on the service of remembrance yesterday. When I heard the shocking news of John's passing, I knew I needed to travel to Seaford for his service. Your husband/father was a naturally gifted teacher, leader, encourager, comedian, and counselor! Seaford Middle School was indeed fortunate to have him in our midst. Many young lives were influenced by his science lessons, but even more so the life lessons by which he lived every day.
My heart goes out to Annie, Patrick, Henry, and Margaret - all super students to whom I was privileged to teach music. My dear father was 57 when he died so I know a little of the sadness and loss you feel. Elsie, the best faculty parties were on your deck. You were the rock at home and we wish you continuing strength to face each day, remembering all of the good times and happiness John brought to you and the family. Thank you for sharing him with so many! God Bless!

Elsie and family,
I am so sorry to hear about John's passing. I met John through the Lion's Club and he was always smiling and great to be around. He seemed to love life and his familiy. I am saddened and want to let you and your family know you have my deepest sympothy and will be in my prayers. May God Bless and comfort you.

John started teaching me things when we met at Austin High School in about 1973. Not only funny and helpful, he was smart and knowledgeable. We groped floundered through a couple of sub-pristine times--'bros' always. His education career way outshines many other accomplishments. A top notch welder and fabricator, he patiently taught me. Also, he did red iron construction--making friends all along the way. And bringing them home. They'd put sliced potatoes (that Johnny had grown in the back yard) on their eyes that felt burned from all day welding.
Ever the King of Cool, John set many examples for us--as comrade, teacher, parent.
Johnny's Austin friends and I bet he was a really excellent, natural born counselor.
Now, the world is less kind, and a whole lot less humorous.

I am so saddened by John's death, but I am sure he would have a joke to cheer me up. He was the most amazing science teacher I had the honor of observing. He was an asset to the middle school staff and brought joy to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. I remember many fun filled family get togethers with the Rochlick's and Darden's on the big deck. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

This is so sad and shocking. I've known John for my entire career at DSEA as communications director (almost 28 years). He was a wonderful member of our P.R. Committee, and the impetus for a "Back to School" campaign we put together to help teachers invite legislators and other community leaders to spend time, with the teacher's help, teaching a lesson or two. John was a strong advocate for his colleagues and loved being an educator. Always positive, happy and, yes, funny! I will miss him!!
May his family find comfort. You will all be in my prayers.

A man of tremendous character, he was always at-the-ready to crack a joke with his witty sense of humor and he was more willing and able to laugh harder with you, than at you. Trusted by his peers and loved by the many kids whose lives he influenced every single day of his time at Seaford Middle School, he will be greatly missed.

I am shocked and saddened at the news of John's death. I was his "mentor" and cooperating teacher at Deerpark Middle School, in Round Rock, when he was a student teacher. He was such an amazing teacher....certainly one of the best I've had the pleasure of working with!! His humor was unmatched...we had so many fun times working together! May God's Peace and Love continue to bless you, Elsie, and his wonderful family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. I was so blessed to have had John as a friend and co-worker!
With love and fond memories,

A great brother-in-law who kept you laughing. A formidable opponent at Texas Hold-em and knowledgeable in sports and politics with strong opinions in both. Always "fair and balanced". We will miss you.....
