Kristina HEDGES Obituary

HEDGES (Aurispa), Kristina Kristina (Aurispa) Hedges (40) of Austin, TX went home to be in the arms of Jesus on October 17, 2017. Kristina began her journey on April 3, 1977 in Austin. She was the oldest of three children born to Eddie and Cheryl Aurispa. She attended Great Hills Christian School and graduated in 1995. She then attended Concordia University for 2 years. Kristina met Matthew Hedges in 1998 at a youth concert. They were married one year later and their ministry together began. Throughout her life, Kristina was a precious daughter, loving sister, and a dedicated pastor's wife. Her life was a huge inspiration and testimony to all. She loved her family, her friends, and her four legged baby, Miles. Despite having a difficult journey, Kristina never gave up, never complained, and always focused on others. She was passionate about living a life that pointed straight to her Savior and illustrated the greatest characteristics of faith, hope and love to everyone that knew her. As Galatians 6:9 says, Kristina though weary physically, never grew tired of doing good. Kristina was preceded in death by her grandfather Rev. Rafael Aurispa and grandmother Lucille Salinas. She is survived by her loving husband, Matthew Hedges; her parents, Eddie and Cheryl Aurispa of Austin; her brother, Carlos and his wife Cami and their 2 daughters Arianna and Aliyah Aurispa of Saginaw, TX, and her brother Benjamin Aurispa of College Station, TX; her grandmother Paulina Aurispa of Laredo, TX; her aunt Gracie and uncle Don Grant of Morehead, KY; her cousins, Pauline and Chris Chapman and children Grant and Avery of Woodbridge, VA, and Matthew Grant of Richmond, VA; and uncle Anthony and aunt Helen Salinas of Las Vegas and cousin A.C. Salinas of Las Vegas. Kristina's family will receive friends between 6 and 8 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. A celebration of Kristina's life will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 21, 2017, at First Baptist Church, Pflugerville. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Visit Kristina's memorial at www.cookwaldencapitalparks.com "I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Tim. 4:7)

I know that you miss that little girl; as much as I miss her Uncle Anthony, but I did have 65 years and your time was so short! Hugs to all, Helen

My heart is broken to know my precious friend is gone from this Earth, but then knowing she is pain free in Jesus' arms causes me to rejoice for her. She left an enormous mark on my life and I will forever remember her contagious laughter, her beautiful smile, her infectious joy and the amazing ability she had to bring comfort and encouragement to her loved ones, all while she struggled. What a life she lived and how she modeled Christ's love in all she endured. I will cherish the wonderful memories of sweet Kristina until we meet again...and I'm so thankful to know that we will.

My love, thoughts and prayers are with her family: Matt; Cheryl and Eddie; Benjamin; Carlos, Cami, Arianna and Aliyah; her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.❤

Our hearts are broken that sweet, precious Kristina's time here with us has passed. She was a bright light in a darker world and a beautiful reminder of how our lives should be. Jesus lived in her and she in Him. We pray for comfort and peace for her family and friends in the knowledge that Jesus has healed Kristina and provided for her every need. We pray for the grace that only Christ can provide to bring you peace in the coming days.
Our deepest sympathy,

Cheryl this is Mary lou landrum (Lansford). I am so sorry for your loss. Talked to Helen today a she was telling me what had happened. I can't imagine what you are going through but I lost my husband/best friend 2 1/2 years ago. All I can say is that I get up each day and begin by putting one foot In front of the other and moving forward. I believe that is what they would want us to do. And remember they are always here watching over us.

Dear Ones, our hearts are with you at this time as they have been throughout Kristina's journey. All of our words fall short of what is felt. I praise God that you all know how to receive God's love, mercy and comfort. That is the only way to get through as you have for years already. I praise God for Kristina's testimony of faith and endurance until our Lord called her home. And now, our prayers are for her loved ones who will follow His path until you are reunited again. We love you!
