Natalie DAILEY Obituary

DAILEY, Natalie R.
Natalie Renee Dailey, 26 of Austin, died Sunday August 16, 2015 in a tragic motorcycle accident. Natalie was born in Austin on August 4, 1989 to Gary and Kelli Dailey. Natalie was a graduate of Dripping Springs High School in 2007 where she was a dedicated member of the Dripping Springs Hi- Steppers. She later graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor's degree in Family and Child Development. Natalie loved children of all ages and began her career as a resident teacher at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Though her life was cut short, she made such a huge impact on the lives of so many children and families beginning at age 11 as a Nanny to her beloved Ryan family. She was extremely involved in the First Baptist Church of Austin's children's programs, and made such a huge impact during her time at Child Protective Services and most recently, as the Education Coordinator at Bright Horizons Family Center.

After losing her father, Gary Dailey to Pancreatic cancer in 2011, Natalie became a dedicated advocate with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network where she participated in rallies on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. Natalie loved 80's rock music; her all time favorite band since she was little was KISS. She couldn't go a day without queso or her coffee. Natalie's love for art was demonstrated by her beautiful, colorful tattoos; each representing something significant in her life and always crafted by her faithful friend, Zach. The last several months of Natalie's life were enriched by the special man her in life; Chris Mardis. Though the past 4 years were difficult, Natalie and her old sister Katie faced every obstacle thrown at them; together and head on. Natalie cherished her relationship with her sister and the two had a bond like no other.

Natalie was a loving daughter, caring sister, devoted advocate and a friend to so many. Natalie is survived by her mother, Kelli Dailey of Dripping Springs, sister Kate Dailey of Arlington, her grandmother Bobbie Jean Dailey of San Marcos, and a large extended family. She also leaves behind her coonhound; LuLu Belle, and her two cats Squeak and Gaga. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Cottey and the amazing trauma staff at University Medical Center Brackenridge. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 22nd at First Baptist Church of Austin, 901 Trinity Street, at 11:00. The family requests that donations in Natalie's memory be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, www.pancan.org.

I had the most fun with Natalie at the Marathon Fair where we worked the PanCan booth. We had t-shirts to give out and we just walked around giving them to people. We made the people smile and she smiled even bigger each time. Her kind heart was shining through!
