Neal Chapman Obituary

Neal Dow Chapman, Jr. Neal Dow Chapman, Jr. was born in San Angelo, Texas, August 17, 1926, and passed away in Austin, Texas on September 26, 2010. Dow served his country in the Navy during World War II and later graduated from the University of Texas. Dow was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. He was well known for his creativity in the kitchen and took delight in preparing some of his favorite recipes, including his famous cerveza cabrito and savory smoked salmon. Dow is survived by Carolyn Sue Chapman, his wife of just shy of 48 years. He is also survived by five children, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dow will truly be missed by his many friends and family who will always treasure the fond memories of his quick smile and wit. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the family cemetery at the Annandale Ranch. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Hill Country Conservancy, PO Box 163125, Austin, Texas, 78716 or to the charity of their choice.
