Patricia RAIMONDO Obituary

RAIMONDO, Patricia Ann
Patricia Ann Raimondo, age 60, was born in San Antonio on January 15, 1955 and died on October 20, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Glenna Raimondo.

Pat was passionate about animals and their wellbeing. As a geographer, she loved being in nature and experiencing all of the beauty this world has to offer. She was an excellent photographer and loved to travel and geocache. She served as an optometrist in the Army and the Public Health Service and along her journey, she spent time in Germany, Alaska, San Antonio and El Paso. More than anything, she was a loving, kind individual who was always more concerned about her family and friends' needs than her own. Her final act of generosity was to be an organ and tissue donor.

Pat is survived by her wife and partner of 31 years, Mary Beth Booth, her brother Richard Raimondo Jr. and his wife Jennifer, her sister Debbie Burroughs and her husband Mark, her niece Kati Burroughs, her nephews, Brian Raimondo and his wife Kristin and their children Sophia and Preston, and Jeff Raimondo and his wife Claudia and their children Brandon and Stella, and her beloved kitty Sweetsie.

At her request, there will be no funeral. To honor her spirit, she would ask you to be kind to all animals. Donations in her memory can be made to the Austin Humane Society (www.austinhumanesociety.org).

Pat, was a kind and caring woman. I worked with her at the TWDB for a few years. She was patient and the kindest person one could imagine.

In a crowded lecture hall at Texas State University, Pat stood out as a dynamic personality. Determined to team up with her on our epidemiology project, I introduced myself and over time realized that my first impressions were an underestimation. Our cohort accomplished much thanks to Pat's contributions. And I was honored to have her as a valued friend and colleague. Pat, we know your spirit and joy of life will continue to watch over us.
