Sally Holcomb Obituary

Sally Rose Holcomb Sally Rose Holcomb passed from this life April 25, 2009, but her beautiful, fiery spirit and quick wit will be forever cherished by those whose lives she touched. She taught us all, through her courage and tenacity, just how strong the human will can be. Sally Rose was born February 5, 1956 in Winters, Texas to William David and Rose Lang. She moved to Austin, Texas during the 1970s where she attended college. Sally was a special education teacher with A.I.S.D. until spring of 2001. Sally's zest for life served as a wonderful example of how life is to be embraced and treasured. Her sharp humor and story-telling talent were attributes that won her many friends. Sally's greatest joy came from being an extraordinary mother to her children, Jake, Ava and Jesse. Sally is survived by her children as well as sisters, Christy and Cindy, her brother David and his wife, Mary. A celebration of Sally's life will be held Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Austin from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Those who wish are invited to share a memorable "Sally story" to honor her colorful life. Donations may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Austin Affiliate (512-473-0900).
