Helen Sundvall Obituary

SALEM - Helen Jeanne (Girrard) Sundvall was born in Amity, Ore., on June 21, 1930 and graduated from Salem Academy in 1948. She married Lyman L. Sundvall on June 26, 1953. Preceding her in death were her parents, Marvin and Hazel Girrard; and her sister, Charlotte M. Dimick.She is survived by her husband, Lyman L. Sundvall; 2 children: daughter, Charmalee Fry of Rock Springs, Wyo.; and son, Glendon Sundvall (wife, Julie) of New Meadows, Idaho; 4 grandchildren, Katie Quintana (husband, Shane) of Platteville, Colo., Sarah Freitag (husband, Jeff) of Jefferson, Jamie Sundvall of Nampa, Idaho, and Luke Sundvall of New Meadows, Idaho; and 1 great-grandson, Morgan Quintana of Platteville, Colo.Helen worked as a secretary for The State of Oregon, First Church of the Nazarene for many years, and for Marion County. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, arts and crafts.Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, at the Church of the Nazarene, 1550 Market St. Salem, Oregon. Private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Missionary Fund at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1550 Market St., Salem, OR 97301 or 503-581-3680.  Arrangements are by Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors.
