Lois Lindquist Obituary

Lois Colleen Carr Lindquist

Portland - Lois Colleen Carr Lindquist, age 91, of Jefferson, Oregon passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021.

Lois Colleen Carr held the distinction of being the first baby born in 1930 in four townships. She was born on a farm in Callendar, Iowa to Ernest C. and Florence L. (Stanek) Carr on 30 January 1930. Lois was baptized in the Methodist Church and went to school in Gowrie, Iowa. She was a member of Royal Neighbors Iowa and a life member of VFW Auxiliary in Albany, Oregon.

On 26 June 1949, Lois and Harold L. Lindquist were married in Fort Dodge, Iowa in a double ceremony. The couple, and four of their children, moved to Jefferson, Oregon, where a fifth child was born. They lived in and around Jefferson, finally settling on an acreage in the Talbot area. On 11 June 1990, Harold passed away after a lengthy illness. Lois took care of him to the end. She stayed on the farm for 18-years, until a car accident made her go into Jefferson, Oregon. After her husband's passing, she traveled to Australia to help a brother; she loved it there.

Lois loved her children, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and anyone who stopped to see her for a long or short time.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; great-granddaughter, Kaili Drew Webster; brothers, Claude and Ernest; and sisters, Joyce and Evelyn. Lois leaves to mourn her sons, Michael, Elwood, and Mark, and their spouses; daughters, Marilyn and Elaine, and their spouses (all so good to me); eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Pauline, Ivis, and Inez; a number of nieces and nephews; and many other relations.

A visitation for Lois will be held Friday, February 19, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors, Salem, Oregon. A graveside service will be held at Cox Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 20, 2021, where Lois will be laid to rest by her husband, Harold.

We are so sorry to hear of Lois' passing. When I visited with her she loved to talk about the quilts she made and how she had one set aside for just about every member of her family. Prayers of comfort for you.

I loved Lois very much, and all of her stories of Ernie and growing up. She had a hard life, but her strength was amazing. She was my beloved neighbor the last 13 years. I will miss my visits with her. The last time I talked with her, her last words to me were "I love you". I cherish her memory
