Alphonso Davis Obituary

Alphonso Davis, 72, of 1916 Cunningham Drive, Statesville, entered into eternal rest Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at Iredell Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born in Iredell County to the late Richard and Cordie Lee Dalton Davis. He attended the Iredell County Schools and was retired from Petruzelli Construction Co. in Ft Myers. Fla. He was preceded in death by three daughters, Eva Feimster, Linda and Brenda Davis, and a son, Perry Davis. He also was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Cynthia Davis and two children, Alpheenya and Jarried Davis, of the home. In addition he is survived by five daughters, Edith Woods, La Tanya Campbell and Robin Holmes all of Statesville; Debbie Davis of Tallahassee, Fla., and Shirley Hallmon of Ft. Myers, Fla.; two sons Terry (Zoe) Davis of Florida and Barry Davis of Statesville. Also surviving are two brothers, O.B. (Alberta) Davis and Lonnie P. (Florence) Davis Sr. and two sisters, Stella (Paul) Patterson, all of Statesville, and Mary Loris (Paul) Parker of Mooresville; and by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, and by a very special friend, Mr. Lonnie Wellman of Statesville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Davis and Mangum Mortuary, with Elder Robert Witt officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Belmont Cemetery. Services of comfort are entrusted to the care of Davis and Mangum Mortuary.
