Powell; three grandchildren and five step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Angela Diane Durling, and his parents, Kenneth and Donna Durling.

My prayers are with David's family. I hadn't seen David since high school and regret never going to any reunions. David was always sweet and flashed that big smile to everyone. God bless.

Tami - you have lost a father, and the rest of us a real good friend. We watched you girls grow up; then you suffer the loss of a sister and now your Dad. Please keep in touch, if you need us let us know. Your Deerwood neighbors.

I have no words for the amount of losses your family has endured in such a short time. David was such a grachious man, respected, and loved by all that came into contact with him. You couldn't help but like him, with that big smile. Please accept our condolences for your loss. (Family of Janelle Thomas)

Since our days at SAHS, David has been a dear, kind, and thoughtful person. Always ready with a big, welcoming hug, he'd immediately bring a smile. I remember our 50th class reunion and how much fun we had while visiting with SAHS classmates.
I also remember the many times he provided the "ultimate" in customer service in the Publix meat market.
David was the one who purchased my husband's (Danny Thomas) cherished 1957 Chevy when Danny enlisted in the Marines in 1971.
Tammy, may your memories and those you share with your children of your Dad never dim for the love David shared with his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the Durling family during this difficult time.
We will cherish David's memory forever.

David was my very first boyfriend in the 7th grade and will always hold a very dear place in my heart. He was one of the kindest sweetest men I've ever known. The only consolation that we left behind have is knowing he is in a better place and is happy to be with his daughter again. My deepest sympathy to his family for your loss.

David will be sorely missed. I've known him for many years, first as a father-figure and then as a co-worker and friend. What a kind heart and gracious soul. Tami, you're in my thoughts and prayers and find comfort in the fact that he is at peace and you will see him again someday. My deepest sympathies go out to the family.

My deepest regrets in life are not knowing great people well enough to get to know them, and what I know of David was simply he was a warm, happy, and generous man with a deep love of family. He will be sorely missed everyday as a mentor and a leader, but above all a friend. God bless and keep your family strong.
