Frank Hager, 83, of St. Augustine, Fla., died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008. He was the loving husband of Mrs. Beatrice G. Hager for 63 years.
Mr. Hager was born Sept. 26, 1924, in Parlin, N.J., the son of the late Emmanuel Hager and Violet Rushworth Hager. He retired from E.I. DuPont after 40 years of service. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the Normandy Campaign, the Northern France Campaign, the Central Europe Campaign and Air Offensive Europe.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kathleen King, and her husband, Richard, of Lynchburg, Va.; a son, Frank Hager, Jr., and wife, Kathleen, of Manchester, N.J.; three grandchildren, Angel Marie Hager, Sabrina Iris Hager, Kenneth V. Hager; and a sister, Mrs. Irislea Koval, of Parlin, N.J.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home with Pastor John Williamson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of the Hills, 3300 Rivermont Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24503.
