I started working at Dr. Versaggi's office, and I was so honored to have been able to meet, know and treat Mr. Wiles. He was always a pleasure to see in the office, incredibly kind, and a joy to speak with. I enjoyed getting to know him, and I know he will be surely missed by our community, his family, and all those who knew him. He was a special man for sure.

Annette, Doug, Debbie and all,
I have said privately to you what I feel...a wealth of hopes and dreams fulfilled, so many days well-lived and now a legacy to celebrate. His kindness to me and to my children was so very much appreciated and endeared him to me. My last spirited conversation with Herbie was a few weeks ago at dinner. He told me who I should vote for and why and I totally agreed with his choice! I will miss candid thoughts from him.
The Bible reminds us that "Blessed are those that mourn for they shall be comforted." I pray that this will be especially true for you as you mourn his loss.

Doug and Family,
It was such a honor to work with your dad. He was a true southern gentleman. Rhonda and I had the privilege of getting to know Herbie and your mom on a overseas trip. After the trip whenever I would visit your office on business Herbie would always ask about my wife and family and tell me to give them his regards. We are truly sorry for your loss and know Herbie will be missed by his family and community. We are all better for having known Herbie!

I have had the privilege of living across the street from Herbie for the last twenty years. He instantly made my mom and me feel welcomed into the neighborhood after we relocated from Atlanta. Always slowing down while driving by to chat and ask how we were doing. He always joked while we were out walking the dog who's walking whom ? We will truly miss his presence in the neighborhood, it was an honor to have known him.

To Doug and family: Kathy and I thought Herbie to be a wonderful person and a fantastic asset to the community. Bumped into him a couple of times up here in the Smokies years ago. Our condolences on your loss.
