John was a man with a very determinate vision for St Augustine and worked hard to bring it to fruition. In his time in the City he made such a difference to many people and his passion for furthering his many ventures brought success to his business, which is a huge credit to him and to the lives of his employees and patrons. His work to bring an Irish festival here has given much joy to tourists and residents alike and will continue because of him. His road has ended but his life has impacted so many people that his memory will live on in the minds and hearts of all who remember him. The road has risen to meet him. God rest him.

Very sad to hear of John's passing. He was too young and energetic to be taken from us. He contributed greatly to his adopted city of St. Augustine. Our deepest sympathy to his family, to Jenn, and to all the staff at Meehan's.

I had the pleasure to work with John as part of The Ritz- Carlton New Orleans opening team. He was a true steward of our employee promise. John was an exceptional teacher of finance and business acumen. I credit him to this day for sharing his knowledge and experience with me - I am a better leader because of my time with Meehan. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I had the pleasure to know John on and off the water! His passion and commitment was unmatched when racing or just out sailing. It did not stop at the dock when lines were tied and hatches closed. He was a firm believe in building up and empowering others w/ the same level of commitment. John is a huge supporter in my commitment to bringing awareness to Mens health for Prostate Cancer in St. Augustine. And will forever be. THANK YOU for being a friend John and an inspiration to so many!!!! Race In Peace.

I did not know John for very long but I don't believe people needed to in order to understand the passion he had for everything he was involved with. I worked on the St Augustine Race Week Event last year and John the dynamic Driving force behind the success of that event. He was so passionate about youth sailing and access to sailing education for children! He will leave a giant void in the planning committee for that event. We will continue on and will make it great next year in his honor! Enjoy your perpetual favored tack and inside mark room John. You be dearly missed!

I never knew John personally, but me and my wife, Colley really love his Restaurant. In the many things I read about John and his legacy, he really brought a warm and welcoming spirit to Meehan's. Many prayers to John and his family and we hope that he rests in peace. May God Bless
