Mr Birkett was a very kind soul. He and my dad were close friends and fishing buddies for years. As a new car owner in my teens I would go by the repair shop each week to make my installments on my repairs. They just don't make mechanics like Bob nowadays. The family is in my thoughts and prayers.

You left out smoking mullet. It was the best! We were so happy at my dad's auto parts store, H&M, where Mr. Birkett was a good customer, when he shared some of his smoked mullet with us. Glad to know he lived to such a good age, but much sympathy on his passing.

Bob was the best mechanic. My Dad introduced me to him, when I bought my first car, way back in 1973. He was always kind & had patience when I was asking questions. RIP sir, you will be missed.
