Steven Timmerman Obituary
One can say that he died young, but if you were to take all of the adventures, love and happiness that were packed into Steve's years here on the earth, you could say that he lived a full life, and more than most of us. He had a zest for life, a passion that burned inside him to do more and enjoy it all. He inspired us to do great things and live life to the fullest.
A treasured husband to his soul mate Chris, loving and giving father to his children, brilliant leader at his now retired vice president position at Northrop Grumman, and fun and spirited friend to so many, Steve Timmerman was a source of joy to so many who will miss him dearly until we see him again one day. We celebrate his life and know that he is in a good place waiting for us all to one day join him.
We invite you to join us for a memorial service in his honor at Craig Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 30, at 11 a.m. For those wishing to contribute in Steve's honor, we ask that you make a donation in his memory to The Wounded Warrior Project.
Craig Funeral Home Crematory Memorial Park is in charge of arrangements.

Hey good Buddy, eight years today. I have this photo on my refrigerator taken at your 60th birthday party just three weeks before we lost you. We knew you were feeling poorly, as you were drinking white wine. I toast you every time I have a glass of wine, and drinking wine just isn't the same without you.

Music will bring me back, way back, to Plant 5 at Grumman. You had to share a table with me and you sat there and belted out tunes. It is a poignant memory. I just looked at Melanie's photo of you when we went skiing in 1980. Why on earth were you wearing shorts when there was a blizzard outside? Still making me smile. We'll laugh again someday...

I guess this is the end of the Legacy guest book. I appreciate all the messages and memories you all wrote. I didn't see my brother all that often, the last time was in March '11 when Dad and I drove him home from the hospital. He was full of energy even then, despite all this medical issues. I will always think of our childhood and the funny stories we later shared. And I will always remember our last conversation, the day before his surgery. Miss you, Steve. Love, your sister, Joanne

"....all we are is dust in the wind." It has been more than a month but I still miss him and cry at his leaving us! Friend, mentor, brother, and more. I need another Hog rider to laugh and cuss and drink with! There will never be another like him... Dicki and I tell stories about each ride we went on, and we laugh! Having Billy along to make sure we didn't get lost, and then riding home along A1A and stopping for a beer before crossing the bridge and into the house for more laughter and stories. I'm amazed at how vivid each ride has become and how much fun it was to share all that with Chris when she got home. We were so happy together, and loved that home with Rowan, Tiana and Nikko...and the food that Chris would prepare, especially at Thanksgiving, with everyone there, Dad and Mom, sisters and friends... the best!

John, Your poems are like a light shining in the forest, making all around it shine and show off their goodness. Thank you for your efforts and we will all remember Steve in the ways your words have described. I miss my brother and his smiling face. He was my best friend and we rode motorcycles together laughing at every stop. He used to tell stories of his early days at Grumman, and then we'd laugh at the fun he had then, and now. A Great American and Human Being. I miss him and pray for his family. Walt and Jean are such dear friends, and Christine will always be in our prayers. God Bless All.

Steve and I shared a desk at Grumman in 1976. I could not concentrate. When we weren't making fun of our weird boss, Steve was singing, "Dust in the Wind" and "Lady." Thank goodness he could sing! We laughed soooo hard. This tragedy breaks my heart. We last spoke in 2009 and he was enjoying being retired. My heart goes out to all family members. I still don't know what his favorite word meant, but here's to you Steve - "quintessential" man. Cindy

Steve, out of all six of us you and I are closest in age. My whole childhood is remembered as you and I together; playing, confiding against Mom and Dad, and yes, fighting alot too.
