Vicki Kane

Mrs. Vicki Smith Kane, 62, born in Dalton, Georgia, and a resident of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away after a brief illness on Sept. 1, 2016, at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine. While living in Dalton as a youth, she was a member of Dalton United Methodist Church. Vicki was a 1971 graduate of Dalton High School and also attended Dalton State College. She later relocated to Augusta, Ga., where she was employed for 34 years at University Hospital. In 2009 she moved to St. Augustine, a place she loved, and savored the opportunity to travel with her husband Tom. Together they enjoyed the company of their canine companions, Birth and Teddie.
Vicki was preceded in death by her birth parents, Don and Pat Smith, grandparents Emory and Myrtle Smith and Tom and Winnie Cooper, all of Dalton.
Vicki is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas B. Kane, Jr. of St. Augustine; lovingly parented and survived by Jack and Elizabeth Brown of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, E. Don and Beth Smith of Chattanooga, Tennessee; uncle and aunts Bob and Essie Smith, Doris Smith, Jeanette Cooper and Pat Brown, all of Dalton; special cousins in the Smith, Cooper and Brown families, and life-long friends Cheryl Anderson of Augusta and Debbie White of Dalton.
A memorial service will be announced at a future date.
