Virginia Frances (Fleming) Libby, 80, of Plymouth Mass., formerly of St. Augustine, Fla., passed away on Sept. 3, 2012 at Wingate at Silverlake. She was born in Dorchester, Mass., on June 19, 1932, daughter of Peter and Anna Fleming.
Virginia graduated from Weymouth High School class of 1950. She worked as a cake decorator for years while staying home with her children. During 1973 the family relocated to St. Augustine, Fla., where Virginia later worked for AT&T. Virginia enjoyed all kinds of crafts including painting, stamping, crocheting and scrapbooking. She also enjoyed baking and watching the many birds that filled her yard. Virginia read to the blind, volunteered locally for Meals on wheels and at Flagler Hospital. Virginia was adored by her three daughters- Brenda Durant and her husband Kevin of Halifax, Mass., Michele McGarry and husband Denis of Plymouth, Mass., and Elaine Andrews and husband Gary of Pompano Beach, Fla. She was the proud grandmother to Heather (Durant) Blaine and Gayle (Durant) Holmes. Virginia was the great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren. Virginia came from a family of three sisters, Lorraine Walo of Port Richey, Fla., Joan Hughes of Port Richey, Fla., Kathy Cennami of Lakeville, Mass., and the late Peter Fleming. Other survivors include her best friend and sister-in-law Nancy Porazzo and her many friends and neighbors in Jacksonville and St. Augustine, Fla.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday 4-8 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home, South Weymouth. Relatives and friends will gather in the Funeral Home Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, East Weymouth at 10 a.m.

To the Libby girls,
Remember this? We would play Art Linkletter when I came to visit for overnights in Pembroke. Your mother would ask questions about my mother…. What did she make me for breakfast? What did she cook for dinner? I never thought a thing about it until I got feedback many years later…
We are thinking of you and hoping you are sharing many great memories.
Love, Nancy and Mark

Some of my greatest memories of my childhood were the summer parties at Auntie Virginia's house.
As an adult, I didn't see her much, but always enjoyed any time together. She made the best blueberry muffins!
Auntie Virginia was one of the kindest people, and she loved her children and her sisters so very much.
Heaven has gained a shinning star.

I have wonderful memories of your Mom. No matter how immature and obnoxious we were, your Mom always had her head on her shoulders. She would handle us with style and grace. My thoughts are with you and your family. Take extra good care of yourself right now.
